In compliance with District policy, homework will be sent home Monday through Thursday. Each homework assignment will average about twenty minutes per evening. Homework is due back the following day after it is assigned. However, late homework assignments will be accepted. Your child's homework will not be returned to you. You should look over your child's work to make sure it is acceptable before it is turned in.

Monday --Math Homework and Read-A-Loud (See below)

Tuesday --Read to your child and fill out the form and fill out Read-A-Loud chart

Wednesday --Math Homework and Read-A-Loud

Thursday--Language Arts and Read-A-Loud

If your child does not finish school assignment during the allotted time, they will be marked accordingly and sent home to be completed.

Monthly Read-A-Loud Charts -- The first grade classes participate in a Monthly Read-A-Loud program. A chart will be sent home at the beginning of each month. You or your child will record the books he/she has read over the month and will return the chart at the end of the month. If your child loses the chart, you may keep a record of on a separate piece of paper. At the end of each month your child will receive a certificate of accomplishment and starting in October a coupon for free pizza at Pizza Hut. Completing and returning the charts will also be reflected in your child's Homework grade during the reporting period.
